I experienced a day of rapid progression today, and it was great!!
I've been annoyed for a long time with how my colouring was going, I didn't understand any color theory and everything I did looked too simple and bland.
I've been checking out some color theory on the internet, and just plain experimenting about in Photoshop, and while I can't claim to understand per se, I can sense knowledge right in front of me, way closer than before.
The first experiments were the following:

While they might not look like much, they've lead to a deeper understanding of colours and of how to use photoshop, and they ultimately led to me doing this in the evening:
the first drawing of skin that I've actually felt ok with afterwards!
Behold!

While I know it's not perfect in any sense of the word, it's lightyears beyond what I've accomplished before!
To sum up the day:
Knowledge of colour theory +1
knowledge of Photoshop +1
Self esteem +3
Today, life is good!
