I Think I Know What Type of Update It Will Be Tonight

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a 2mb+ update that switches us over to the new VGUI2 (The HL2/CS:S VGUI), and HL2 will then be ready for validation.

Anyone remember when CZ was preloading? And then the update just enabled you to play it?

Why wouldn't Valve include a new GUI with HL2? Why would it come as an update?
