Ok, I already posted this once and it didn't work, here's the gist of what I am asking.
My college about the middle of last year decided to block the port that Steam uses, or block it somehow, because it takes up too much bandwidth, or some other reason unbeknownst to me. So we went from playing Counter-Strike online (I was 19-3 the last time I played...) to being unable to play ANY steam game online. What we did is go back to an earlier version of Counter-Strike and play that over the LAN.
Will we be able to play Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source without being able to use Steam? I would guess that we can play HL2 singleplayer, but not CS Source, but I'm not even sure about that. I will be royally ticked off if we can't even play HL2 singleplayer, but maybe we could talk to the administration and get them to reopen it. Anyway, that's my question, thanks in advance for helping me out.
