Increasing texture distance

Someone found a way to fix the outdoor areas looking like crap when far away...but it does take a toll on your save/load times in the outdoor areas.

Yeah, I caught that thread as well. I'd do that tweak if my system could take the performance hit... which it cant. lol

Just read through the whole thread, seems best results come from turning it up to 7 or 8.

Yeah, I caught that thread as well. I'd do that tweak if my system could take the performance hit... which it cant. lol

He says it's a 3-6fps hit when changing from 5 to 7.

It does work - increases initial load time a little bit - but load times on my pc are fast (and it's not the newest PC) so it's no big deal since I'm not constantly loading my game.

also there are some new nvidia drivers out that are supposed to optimize oblivion a little bit (3-5 fps increase I've heard, but I dont have it yet, so I cant really say until tommorow when I get it)
