Installation Help

I installed Ep2 and Portal on my computer last night in my brother's Steam account, but now when I try to play it, it doesn't show up in the My Games list and says it still needs to be installed. Why is it doing this, what will happen if i try to install it again and how can I stop this problem from recurring?
Edit: I've tried to install it again but appaerntly there isn't enough disk space which is bullshit seeing as my brother put a new hard disk drive into my computer and copied the Steam folder onto it. I just don't know why this isn't working! This is f*cking pissing me off big time now. :frown:

Are you still using your borther's account to play? Or your own? If so it's only preloaded it. Also, have you tried restarting steam? If so, you might have to do a fresh install of steam.
