I have my network setup. It goes

USB DSL modem --> PC1 --> Switch --> PC2

the networking side is all working fine. I can transfer files and access the computer from each other. The issue arises when I try to do anything on the internet.

From PC1, I can do everything, makes sense since the internet is plugged directly into it.

From PC2 however, I can do practically nothing, I can't access webpages (using either ie or firefox), can't ping websites, can't do anything, except...play CS:Source...or I imagine other Steam games, but haven't checked.

This isn't all a bad thing, as I can use it to play CS:Source when my g/f boots me off my pc (PC1) in order to play WoW or browse the web. But I would like to put her back in her box and stop her whinging. Any help on how I can get the whole net connection shared across is welcomed.

I have set up ICS, tried it with all firewalls turned off. Any other ideas?

Open network properties of PC1. Click properties button. Advanced tab, make sure the box "Allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connection" is checked.

The box is checked and its not working?

or

You checked the box and now it works?

Did you run the network wizard and say "This comp connects to the internet through another comp"?

aye I did, I have just got it working though, I think, many thanks to all off you, especially gandy, or aphex, or whatever he goes by these days.
