I'm curious to know what the restrictions will be. I mean for example Lost series 2 is on in the US and I download it via torrent because Lost series 1 is still showing in the UK.

Now if I could download this from the iTunes store I'd be more than happy to do it, but chances are they'll do it by region (like the music), so if it's aired in your country you can buy it.. rules me out, so I'll just carry on with the torrents.

I wonder how long it will be until someone cracks it and has a tool to convert divx/xvid video to the iPod's (likely) proprietary format and transfer it to the iPod by bypassing iTunes... that is, if Apple doesn't have that functionality already built into iTunes. If it has that, it's going to be tough for me to resist buying one.

I think I remember hearing about linux on the iPod (possibly including the nano) recently getting support for video. So, if some third-party group can do it... I'm sure Apple could. Whether they will or not is the question.

In the US, its next week. Not sure about here in Britain. I won't be buying the 5G in the first few weeks, since I want to see reviews and any negative comments, then I'll consider it.

Just curious, how long was the battery life on a 4G 20gig ipod? Because for video ipod (30gig) its 14 hours which is still pretty shitty.

holy s*** im glad I didn't buy an ipod nano, im sooo getting this.
so yeah if it comes out next week, do they do our orders next week or do we get our ipod orders processed & shipped now and they come around the time of release.

I'm a bit pissed that all the UK iTunes store is selling at the minute is music videos. I wanna be able 2 download TV series too. Something like this would be so cool for people like me who have to commute often.

Does look nice. A really good MP3 player with photo/video viewing. Just need that 30$ camera-to-ipod adapter for uploading pics and you'd be set. I've seen some of those smaller video players and they do good for that but I think they are pretty bad for playing MP3s. Looks like a really good choice for those who arn't focusing on Video playback like an Archos or Epson (have you seen this screen inperson?).
I like that you can buy the stuff for cheap too (1.99$). Good delivery already in place and not making us encode our own files.

They havn't come with docks for awhile now.
