Is Half-Life 2 Preloading Complete?

Because Valve never released a "Final Preload" (the last one was Phase 7) and I heard rumors about some maps and code that had yet to be preloaded I always assumed it wasn't done yet.

Well, is it? Aside from the activation?

No one knows.

There is a rumour that there is possibly a real HL2 multiplayer after all. In which case there would be more maps etc left to go.

But at this point it's just a rumour.

But if there is no multiplayer segment, then all the content should be done, so all that would remain is the activation.

Who know? The Retail version seemed to add about 10% to my Half Life Gold dl--also put a spankin new "Half Life 2" icon onb me desktop.

hey about that icon, what is the command line parameter for hl2?
for instance, cs:s, it was -applaunch 240, what is the number for hl2?

It's 220. There's no need to look.

Right Click the icon, goto its properties and then it should have something like:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe ***

Where the *** is the Half Life 2 paramater... i think thats how it works atleast, i am doing it from memory.

right click the icon, click properties, then look in the target box, and the path should be in quotes, after that should be -applaunch XXX after it. what is the XXX?

a while back, i made an installer for hl2, and the only thing that i didnt know was that parameter so that i could make desktop shortcuts to hl2, now i know, and now i can!
