I have a p4 3.0ghz , 1G ram , ati 9800pro video card. is hitman 3 supposed to be choppy on this system , same with hl2 episode one , i have to lower the setting to play it and its still kinda choppy.

You need to get a new graphics car dude.
9800 series cards had a good run but they're pretty much useless when it comes to todays games.

Meh... they're not as gone as you make them out to be. Sure, nowadays, they're not GREAT... but definitely not useless.

Not really, I have a PRO and can play Oblivion with X360-worthy settings.

But there were card problems and the patch fixes it.

My 9800 is running Hitman 3 without any hitches at all... He just needs the 1.1 patch. It greatly increases performance.

The game ran perfectly smooth (24 - 30 fps, VERY stable) on a 9800 pro, 1GB DDR, AMD 2800+. Might try the patch as everyone suggested.

Are you talking about Contracts (HM3) or Blood Money (HM4)?

A 9800 with those specs should be able to handle Contracts at near max settings, for Blood Money you'll need to turn off post processing effects and perhaps shadows.

As well as installing the patch (if you are talking about Hitman: Blood Money), you should also try enabling Fast Writes in the ATi Catalyst Control centre.

I have a 9800 Pro and I can run Hitman at max w/o AA and AF (but that's because of a different problem) the 9800 cards are still great, he just needs the patch
