Is The Throat Mic Any Good?

I was watching Tears of the Sun earlier tonight, and noticed that the military personnel were utilizing a headset that uses Throat Vibrations for clearer communications without (or less) background noise. I went on google to search for these and was astonished by the relative cheap price tag.

As there are forum members who are (or were) in the armed forces, I wanted to get there opinion on how useful they are in the field. And if it was worth getting one for CS matches :thumbs:
