I'm in the first of what hopefully should be many times through this game. I thought Ravenholm was stressful, eerie, and fully engrossing, and at that point I couldn't have imagined a similar experience on a daylight level.

The bridge just raised the bar. The height factor, rusty creaking girders, misty details lost in the distance, and moaning wind were an incredible experience. If only the wind could have been given a physical effect of tugging you towards the void...

One question - I parked my buggy on the open rail track, yet when I got back, after the train thundered overhead, why was it still there, undamaged? ;)

In fact, an effect of wind blowing you slightly could be simulated with the HL2 mapping tools, I think.

Your buggy remained there because the train got scared and quickly went back into the tunnel after seeing your buggy :p.

Next time, I'm gonna make use of one of the abandoned boats. :)

i dont think a train actually passes by when you're under the bridge, it's just a sound effect. :)

Unless you use thrusters with Garry's mod, I don't think you can do that. Chances are it will break anyway, leading you to a watery doom of leechyness.

You resurect a dead thread for that?

It was brought back up, wasn't it? Either way, yes. Yes I did. I had to say leechyness.

...he's got a good point, one that I hadn't recognized. Obviously the train you hear is a sound effect, but Valve either didn't think about it (doubtful) or they didn't think it was an important enough detail to work around. It's a technicality, but a nice catch. Now that I think about it, I think I'll stack a bunch of boxes in the path of the train (and the buggy) and see what happens.

...just tested. If you leave your buggy (and whatever other objects you please) on the tracks the train will come by on, walk down and trigger the train, it'll smash them and your cart will get mashed into the blue field (causing your game to end, as you've destroyed an apparently necessary piece of hardware).

Fun though. If I get the time, I'll put a whole bunch of furniture and whatnot in the way of the train and have a party. Maybe a strider?

Use Garry'd mod and put a line of zomies all the way down the track (if your pc can take it), that would be awesome :D

*Smacks head* Not another one. YOU DO NOT NEED GARRY'S MOD TO MAKE NPCs!!!!!

It would go a hell of a lot faster, no?

Yes, I know you don't have to; npc_create npc_whatever. My point is, I'd rather repeatedly click a button and have a line of zombies in a matter of seconds than spend an hour typing in the code. Or are you able to make a bunch at once with the console?

No, I don't think so, but I do think that you can bind a key to spawn something (a zombie for example), so you just have to press like o 30 times to make some zombies..

Or you could bind which would create them faster than Gmod and the loading times will be shorter meaning you will spend less time doing it overall :P

But I use Gmod anyway:P

Ah, I've never heard of binding. That answers my question then. How do you do it?

Edit: Fonaki, you posted mere seconds before I did.

But be careful! The zombies can kill you so its a lot better to bind h "npc_create npc_barnacle/scanner/something who don't kill you" you don't wanna die right?

Thanks for the bind thing, and don't worry, I'll make sure I don't die :)

You know what the world needs? A dumbass_disable command (nono, I'm not saying you're a dumbass, just thinking it would make school easier...).
