Just Ordered World Of Warcraft

ummm dont play?

even though I play about an hour a day I'm addicted ...it's like crack covered in cocaine wrapped up in heroine covered in a layer of belgium chocolate with caffine sprinkles

use the parental control feature to only allow play between 5am-4am, then you're not completely addicted :)

Whoo boy. You're f*cked. That, combined with nasty epilepsy medicine, is what caused my cousin to drop out of college.

woohoo - let the never ending quest for epic loot commence!!!

Force yourself not to play too much.
Easy said, but a little more difficult in practice. You'll be needing some self-control.

I may have been joking earlier, but there are parental controls that you can set to limit your time in the game, have a family member set reasonable times that you can play and you should be ok.

Sell it & either buy Oblivion (in a month) or get Guild Wars. Evidently Guild wars allows you to play slightly more casually & you don't have to pay the ridiculous $15/month.

Save yourself now! (I'm only 5% joking) :imu:

Too late, accept it.

/goodbye life

I love this game.

mmm im glad to hear of parental control,

im gunan set it so that i have an hour a night, and play like that till exams are dealt with

my friend loaned me the 15 day free trial, and i got addicted to that, but i got cut short:P

Besides the first day I didn't find it to addictive. I slowly played less and less untill I just canceled my account a couple months after I got it.

buy Oblivion

I spent way more time on morrowind than I ever did on world of warcraft.

sounds about right, /boots WoW up for some noob owning

It can be very addicting....stupid game.

But after I finally got a character to 60 I realized that everything in the game at that level is intentionally designed to be nothing more than a giant time sink. It's not really about loot, or fun, or character development. No, every quest and every instance is pretty much soley created to take up big chunks of time and force you to pay another monthly fee. At that point I kind of got disgusted with it and quit.

Though I am kind of embarassed to say that quitting was actually a little hard to do. Not horrible or anything, but I had this little voice in my head saying, "Well, maybe I should just resubscribe and just raid on weekends." and such. In all seriousness, it's really weird how a game can actually be addicting to a certain extent.

Only way to stop being addicted is do what I do. Play for 16 hours every day for half a year. You are now burned out on games forever and wont touch anything else for about that same period then games wont appeal much anymore.

Still have hardly played any games...aside from solitare.

Quoted for agreement. I discovered that EVERYTHING in the game was designed to be time consuming. 5 hour instances, ridiculous ammounts of grinding, etc, etc, etc.

The other thing that got me to quit is they kept buffing every class against my class, the rogue. Now, there were a few rogues who were REALLY good at their class (including me), but the same was true about other classes. The thing with rogues though is that they're better at pissing people off & a number of rogues are really cheap, killing low-level players.

I would have gladly traded my rogue for a priest or a mage...even a warrior (which used to be crap) at the time I left. I was sad to leave; thousands in gold, not to mention items like a couple unbound arcanite dragonlings, and many other high-priced rare items (I was like a stock-broker - lol). I divided my belongings amongst my friends before I left - I didn't want a reason to come back. It was for the best.

What's worse is, you don't know that your life is crumbling around you. I never realised my social life was going down the toilet until half way through...luckily, I had enough time to get myself out of the rut (good old ban)

Play the game to level 60 and find out how boring PvP and running MC over and over again is

It wont be too difficult, seeing as it's a shit game and all.

Yes, a game with over millions of players is shit because you say so.:|

I am contemplating about re-installing WoW again. I might do that tonight. Start a new char on a PvE server. I'll prolly go for the Horde this time around. When I played for about two or three months after the Euro release I had a Dwarve Hunter. But I also might buy City of Villains. Decisions, decisions ....

Force yourself to play it as much as possible for the first included month, by which time you'll be so sick of it you won't need to subcribe and you save loads of cash!

So much WoW hate is kind of rare considering the amount of subscribers.

I've got a lvl 28 and I love it (him) :D. It can be really addicting but as soon as you get stuck on lvling you don't want to play anymore, which drags it out.

i can actually feel my addiction building!

the trial had me playing it for hours straight after two days!!

I WANT IT NOW

i even conencted to the online help at the website im buying it from to ask them when it is being dispatched!

Forget WoW I just went and picked up my copy of RF online today yes flame away, but I think its ten times better... me cant wait to play after work!! :E

You're absolutely buggered, me old mate. :E

Just don't go on any RP servers and get involved in Stormwind politics - then you'll be really ****ed.

I succumbed. Just installed and patched it, and I am now trying to retrieve the password to my old account. Waiting for an e-mail from Blizzard to arrive so I can play.

Damn you, Joims. :shakes fist: If I get addicted to WoW again it'll be your doing. I bought a gamecard today because of this thread.

No, the servers are split by language. I believe there are english, german and french servers. You can't see the actual geographical location.
