Well since I'm newbie here, first to say is: "Hello HL2 fans" and to ask something.

What bothers me in the game, it's I can't play in LAN (3 computers) because there is no option in game. So what I would like to know is, how can I play at home in LAN?

Many thanx, mes amis...

Welcome to the forums!

Get HL2DM and start a listen server from inside there is easiest. For more options, get the 'Source Dedicated Server' from Steam and set that up, which lets you password protect/etc.

Unless you have three copies, you might have some problems getting the same Steam account to work on the LAN 3 times over. It should be do-able to go offline, but I've never had much luck with it.

I play 1v1 lans at school, but this should work for three people too:

1) Disable your internet connection if you have one
2) Steam will now immediately prompt you to go in offline mode, instead of trying to connect for two minutes
3) You can turn your internet on again if you wish
4) Start up HL2DM and Create a server.
5) Check if sv_lan is 1 in the console
6) Allow players to join by typing 'connect <local adress>' into the console. This local address is somewhere in the console of the person who started the server, with me it's 10.0.0.5
Because I'm not sure this game will show up in the server list, never tried it tbh.

This should work :)

All I did was start a new game, and people were able to connect to my game via the lan tab on the server list.

Just make sure to set the server variable sv_lan to 1. Like:

sv_lan 1

you might have to pass the '-console' command line argument when you start hl2dm.

This should allow multiple computers on a local network to run the game (even with the same account). However, it will not allow people with WAN ips to connect to the server.

This also works for all the other VALVe games...

i cant wait to get my own computer and start throwing lan parties again.
