Leaked Spore E3 video

Hm, last year I was amazed, this looks okay but doesn't do the game real justice imo. I'm curious how the end product will turn out

lol, what's up with the people at spore-game.net thinking that the fact that just gamestop changed Spores date to 2/1/2007 means its true?
We all know gamestores LOVE to GUESS release dates ffs..-_-
I'm not believing any of that crap until I hear something official..
Anyway, nice find.. I thought Spore was supposed to be closed doors at E3 so nice that this got leaked :)

Trust me - it's as good as official
that date is coming from all reputable sources not just one

Indeed. I heard that as well.

As long as the game rocks like it certainly appears to, I don't care if we wait another year to get it!

Ah k, that's too bad. Oh well, atleast I'll [hopefully] get to play STALKER this year :p

GFX look like they got a huge upgrade. Very nice.

It's still looking as good as always. No idea how it'll play though.

How is Spore a tech-demo?

I was hoping this vid was new. Saw it a couple days ago :(

To be honest, the whole idea seems like a tech demo for procedurally generated animations with a UFO game tacked on. It'd be nice to be proved wrong though, the very idea seems lots of fun; just not worth the entry price.

It seems like a game much like Black & White and Civilization combined. You raise your civilization the way you want and tailor the creatures you create just how you want them.

I just don't see how endless possibilities in such an open-ended game like this wouldn't be worth the entry price of $50 whereas a 13-hour shooter is.

Yeah get your mind out of the gutter Reg :P
kidding

Spore will be even bigger and more innovative than the Sims were - just remember to only buy the first one and never purchase another Spore game if don't want a mortgage just for gaming :D

If someone said JUST that to me, I would probably be convinced.

But the game isn't as open-ended as it makes out to be. It only stretches as far as your imagination will. Apart from making creatures and building towns, there is actually very little as it will mostly all amount to the same thing.

And how open-ended are people's imaginations? :rolling:

Well... it will take a mightily good imagination to make enough creatures to keep you occupied for longer than the Sims did.

That's the whole point. You've basically just said that the game is extremely open-ended. The only way it won't be fun is if you don't have an imagination.

a whole infinitely diverse and complex universe on your own harddrive that will really have no limit as long as people continue to play the game - that for me is the holy grail of gaming

No, what I'm saying is that once the novelty of creating creatures has gone there is very little to do in the way of playing the game.

But before this turns into an argument, I'm saying that I won't be buying this game UNLESS it does something majorly exciting at E3 or before launch.

You do realise that there is so much more to the game than just creating a basic creature?
there's interstellar warfare, colonising other planets, guiding your creature to sentience and beyond, creating buildings and vehicles, downloading other people's creatures
Hell some people intend to get this game just so they can be a single celled organism all day long

looks even better than before!

I hope it has a nice diplomacy section to the game, that would be the icing on the cake that even god would want to taste.

That is really not my type of game but yes it does look cool. Looks like the customization of the toon is awesome! Even can change what size foot the toon has. Nice find!

you're missing the bigger picture Darth ..it's not about changing parts to make them look cool, it's about chaning parts so your creatures will have an evolutionary edge over the all the other life-forms

Yes, that is true also I was just not thinking that way at the time. But thanks for pointing that out for me!

Game still looks great, but I don't think I'm going to have the time to play all these F*CKING games!

I hope the UFO still has the "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" beacon it gave out to see if the species was friendly or not, it made me lawl pretty hard when I heard it in the old video :D

Oh hell yes it does
You should check out the Space Oddysey 2001 Monolith as well - it's ENORMOUS
