This is the beginning of a brighter era for the entire region. Everything positive has been cascading.

Palestinian Elections
Iraqi Elections
Israel/Palestine truce
Lebanese puppet government of Syria surrenders itself to the Lebanese people.

It was wonderful to see this, hopefully Syria recognizes, respects and works with the new Lebanese government. It was amazing to watch the thousands of Lebanese protesters march and then ultimately achieve what they were working for. It will be some months before we know if this is truley the blessing it seems to be!

It should also be noted that Saddam Huessein's half brother was turned over the Iraq by the Syrian government.

As far as "everything positive is cascading" that is not necessarily true, insurgent attacks just claimed over 100 Iraqi civilians, many waiting for physicals to join the police force. And it is WAY to early to tell how the Lebanese situation will turn out (though it'll probably be better than now :naughty: )

Sounds like its not all bad news. Hopefully the nutballs that are left will kill themselves off over time.

No that's the bad news, it's becoming very very dangerous to try and join the Iraqi police force, hopefully it won't scare people off, but I'd think twice.

I have to say this thread smells a lot like conservative propoganda. It's a bit too early to be saying things like "Beggining of a brighter era" and "everything positive is cascading" a bit to poetic on a day where 300 innocent Iraqi's were maimed or killed.

Its no more than your 'liberal propoganda' of portraying Iraq as some sort of unwinnable war with no future.

Hmm, I thought we won the war. When President Bush stood on that aircraft carrier beneath a banner saying "Mission Accomplished" wasn't that about winning the war? I think there is a great future for Iraq, the election is a great step towards their independence and democracy. I do think we are going to be over there for a long and drawn out process, but hey, Mission Accomplished*.

* Mission Accomplished does not include capturing Osama Bin Laden, or finding the WMD's in Iraq :naughty: sorry couldn't help myself.

It does include the removal of Saddam Hussein and the freedom of the Iraqi people.

No wonder why we haven't caught him yet.

We put everything into getting rid of saddam...and that gave Osama time to hide.

GG Bush! o/

Anyways...good news on the Lebanon thing.

We put everything into getting rid of saddam...and that gave Osama time to hide.

Capturing Osama will have nothing to do with troop numbers, it will have everything to do with intel.

Personally I think it is a bad thing if the US catches Osama, so I'm not really surprised he is still at large or possibly dead.

One thing I have always wondered is if the U.S. were to focus everything on finding Osama like alot of people say should happen then what form would it take? If Osama is hiding in Pakistan right now and Iraq were completely ignored then I can't see the U.S. sending all of the troops into Pakistan as they did into Iraq. Can anyone tell me how what would change in the search for Osama if Iraq wasn't invaded? Because I really can't see how it would have changed.
