There will be more info coming out of this event, maybe hours from now. Valve has certainly been hard at work and the models will get better (I hope).

No no, don't worry, that's caused by a vingetting effect when you're bleeding out on the ground, the headlighs flare up when you're right in their path, but it all looks very realistic, trust me

No, he is talking about those 2 red dots. Anyways a L4D411 member went to the event and got some info, and pics.

So I took the chance and drove through half the country to play Left 4 Dead at the Games Convention in Leipzig.

It completely fulfilled all the expectations I had as someone that has been following it since the very beginning. It looks fantastic, plays great and is just hell a lot of fun. Every doubt I had concerning the recent changes has been wiped out while playing. It was one of the most awesome gaming experiences I have had in a long long time and even my girlfriend, who has never before played an fps, got right into the game and had so much fun that she`s now awaiting November as eagerly as I do.

Unfortunately there was no developer or valve employee present at the convention (just some hired guys that watched over the booth), so I wasn`t able to ask any questions.

Furthermore, the build that we see in the new videos from the dev conference is a newer one, than the one that we were able to play at the booth. The build I played was the E3 one, meaning there still were the unfinished models and fps hands, the old hud etc. The game looked great when I played it, but it looks even better in the new video.

When my first session was finished, the guys that watched over the booth said, that the games release was november 20th. I told them that the official date I heard was nov 4th for the U.S. and the 7th for europe, but they kept saying that they where told it would release on the 20th.

Can't believe there is another delay, almost to Christmas. It has to be issues with Steam. Cool music in the background for L4D btw. Gamespot posted an interview they had with Gabe while playing the game. It's the same retarded Q's though but this was a confirmation of videos:

Nice, and i see what you were saying on the red dots now, i belive they're another car in the background. Shame that build was the E3 build, i was lucky enough to play two updated builds from after the E3 one whilst it was still going on.
And he's right, it's so much fun to play, you forget everything you want to ask or complain about, it doesn't matter.

The part about his girlfriend not being an fps player now wanting to play is bang on too. When i played, my girlfriend ended up playing it and loving it too and she doesn't play games either. The second build i played the following day, my friends wife played, and she really doesn't play them at all, yet she loved it and wants to play more as well.

Goes to show how good valve are with getting non games able to understand and like their games, needless to say, Valve were very interested in what the girls had to say about their experience.

Ok, Gabe Newell has personally said that it will come out Nov. 20th now in this new video: http://www.gamekings.tv/index/videos/leipzig-08-gabe-newell-speelt-left-4-dead/ The opening movie for the Hospital mission is also shown. L4D was slated to arrive just a week before Gears of War 2 and now roughly a week after Gears of War 2. Remember, we still got that beta for pre-order! :angel: *What was also shown is healing other people. **Hell, they even showed off the voting system. Gabe has confirmed there will be a beta later as well. For console users, they are probably out of luck. For for people who pre-ordered the boxed version of L4D for the PC, they will get a code for the beta, like the TF2 beta. It isn't a beta per say, it's just an early release. The TF2 beta I believe you got what, 25% off the OB and got to play TF2 the week later? *So seriously, get the CC out or PayPal, or what have you. Access to the game week's early and it will be cheaper if you pre-order.

Holy **** Valve, they are seriously just throwing release dates out of their ass now.

Left 4 Dead 411 has received official word from Doug Lombardi that Left 4 Dead will release on November 18th in the U.S. and November 21st in Europe. Doug Lombardi responded to our request for confirmation on Gabe Newell's recent statement on a Nov 20th release. Nov 18 in the states. Nov 21 in Europe (US retailers do "new release Tues" and the EU does that on Friday). Lombardi also mentioned that the timing coincides with the 10th anniversary of Half-Life 1's release, which was originally released November 19, 1998.

Good news for those in the U.S., sorry to those in Europe.

See now, this is why you never trust Valve on release dates! I have no clue but I will almost guarantee you there will be a beta, and it will release this November or this year.......maybe?! It's like Chet and Mike said Nov. 4th, then the big honcho and President, Gabe, basically the boss says the 18th yesterday, then the Marketing Director goes and says the 20th. Which to believe, Gabe or Doug?!?!
