I remember watching and loving two videos, I could not wait to play through those levels. One was Gordon fighting afainst enemies in a house, then using a dumpster trap to take out a large group. The other was a strider fight, with many rebels running and fighting with you. I really wanted to try these out my way, but alas they were nowhere to be found. Anyone else remember these videos?

what he wanted to say is:
the first scene got taken out
the geometry of the houses is used for ravenholm (the zombie city)

and the fight gainst the striders is still in.
chapter 12 i believe

The basics of the second one were, but not all. I loved him pulling leters off the signs and firing them. I think Traptown looked a hellofalit cooler than Ravenholm was...

The E3 demos were videos made just for E3 that showed off whats possible in HL2.

They never said that they were scenes from the actual games maps.

Games go through lots of revisions to balence out the gameplay, so its most likely what we saw in the final game was an evolution of what was in all the videos. And another location seen in the videos but not the game was from the "baricade" video where you fight alongside barney.

Thats true, that was another part I was waiting for but never arrived. I would love for them to put them in the game, maybe even as a small download. *sigh* Oh well.

i miss traptown the most ;( ravenholm isn't a scratch on what was on display in the E3 vid. shame.

I was a bit disapointed with no traptown, looks like ima have to go make it. You know, technically we can create our own levels..hmm..
A fully destuctible level ^_^ oooo!! Thats true Traptown!
Buildings made out of bricks ^_^ etc... Hmm... Fully destructible :)

I actually recognized some parts of the e3 demo in the game. Like the beginning of the game where you escape to the roof (in the source HDR video) and a part in nova prospect there's that hallway with the combine behind the beds and then the turrents at the end of the hallway you use the antlions as a shield to run behind them. That was still there it just looked different cuz all the "final touches" had been put thematically in that level.
