Load points question

Mabey I misunderstood, but I thought the load points were like Halos, where you only got a little stutter between areas while it was loading. Well on my computer it takes about 30 seconds - 1 minutes just to get to the next area, regardless of the detail settings and so on. Anyway to speed it up?

can u post your system info, like cpu ram video card etc...

Gforce 4 4600 128 mb
512 ram
2.4 ghz processer
thats about all I can remember.

Probablly the ram. I get similar times, highest when loading a big outdoor enviroment. I'm gonna upgrade to a gig of ram, that seems like it speeds up loads.
