As you have been noticing we have been leaking some games the last few days before the release date..

We don't want to stop this Wink So we're going to continue.

The list at the moment:

Lost Coast
Sin Episode #1
HL2 Aftermath

We already have a kind of beta of lost coast, but it's shit... we don't know if we release it or not.

Anyways, we just want to bring you up 2 date Smile
*EDIT*
I've had several pm's about this.
We only have a beta of LC atm. and not the other games, we hope we can get those "others" in-time.. Anywayz this LC = full of shit and is prolly dated a few months ago :/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

This was taken off the Emporio website. And no I don't visit Emporio I got this article from another site. This is really scary folks. They managed to get a beta of the Lost Coast. Even though it's semi un-playable its still been cracked. Even more scarier is the fact they might crack SIN and Aftermath. Discuss. *Btw this is Emporio were talking about, not some 10 year old with no life. Though I could be wrong and Emporio really is a 10 year old. ;)

The "leader" of Emporio is 13 (probably 14 now), so you're not far off.

Why would they possibly give any truth about what Valve was doing? They facilitated the illegal warez of steam and all Source games, and imo, obviously don't respect Valve if they've done such things.

The best we can do is buy Valve's games off Steam, which supports the developer more than the publisher. (EA is a good publisher, but they're too greedy sometimes) As for Emporio, either they have someone inside Valve or one of them is good at decrypting files.

Heh if they leak Sin Ep1 and Aftermath wooo...gees.

Reverse psychology, don't pm me emporios website. Ok

Well , dod:s and ragdoll kung fu were "released to the scene" couple of days before the official release day.

A Bit lame. But oh well. There's still more people buying VALVe's products than are warezing.

I can guarentee they won't have any of those. Valve are only allowing external sources like us to have access to games literally a week before their release.

But Valve need to be careful who they're giving these review copies to because whoever is getting a review copy is leaking the .gcf files of the games to Emporio which is why they're appearing days before their release.

Yeah it'll end up like HL2. You won't be able to play it properly because of their amazing skillz.

Leaks are possible from any sources. Think of it, Half-Life 2, along with Lost Coast is, in the computing world, just an insignificant game. It can't compare with things such as the next version of MS Windows, or Oracle software, or such. And still, even when Microsoft or Oracle or such companies give someone preview copies, they leak out.

I'm not that fussed really. Piracy is actually much less of a loss for game developers than you'd think. Why? Because a very, very large portion of pirates are people who would not buy the game if they couldn't pirate it anyway.

Im lost.....who are these Emporio guys? Why havnt they been caught yet?

Emporio is a warez group. Valve games are their main focus.

Why haven't they been caught? Catching computer criminals is not at all easy. Most of the time, various authorities are unable to catch even those criminals who do huge damage by writing widely spreading worms, etc. Unless the people are doing their stuff stupidly, catching them is hard. And, again, in the greater picture, warez groups that pirate and illegally distribute games are a pretty small deal.

I'm suprised the copies aren't being fingerprinted. Or perhaps they are?

They're lying about LC or else have an incredibly outdated copy - the tech is already there (vis DODS), and the map has undoubtedly been done for months.

I think they were the culprits of the HL2 beta leak IIRC? They definently leaked CS: S beta.

The HL2 thief is rotting in prison right about now, and CSS wasn't leaked. Other than that...;)

Oh yeah, I remember now, the HL2 beta leak'er got caught. But CS: S beta was leaked when it was for Condition Zero owners only.

Whenever an EMPORiO site gets shut down, they start up another one with a backup copy of their most recent forums. It's the way the world works.

And again, VALVe are still making a huge profit. If the thieves couldn't get a warez copy they would assume that it's not worth playing.

What I don't understand is how a few people know what the EMPORiO website is but then others don't. Are these real internet pirates? Where is their treasure cove? Who is the calvary that will finally vanquish these ruffians?

I found the site by typing in stuff in Google. I found the nickname the guy goes by on Wikipedia and typed stuff in and I found it. You really don't need to be a 1337 guy to find his sites. Some things you might try and look for is the name "swineswill" "and Maddoxx." And this Lost Coast version might be patched to get a stable product. They patched the HL2 alpha to something that was semi-playable. And guess what their doing to Lost Coast?

I remember downloading CS: S...This was after I decided to quit CS forever. 1.6 was boring as hell..blah blah blah. Then I got my hands on CSS leak. I had orgasms..knifing the ground in different angles..spelling out words. Shooting the props and they fly. You couldn't play online at the time.*they fixed that later though*

They know what they are doing, that's for sure.

Now I think about it, they are definitely lying about LC. They are driven by ego, and couldn't withold release it if they tried. :p

Bullshit they do. I've got IRC logs and forum posts that show that they haven't got a goddamn clue what they're doing. They rely on other people leaking them the press review copies which they then claim as their "early" release. And with logic like "**** Valve, they banned me from Steam" as a justification for what they do, when not 10 minutes before, the same person had said "I've never bought a single Valve game" you have to wonder about their intelligence.

Don't you just love that? Some guy comes bitching that he did something, and you have devastating evidence it isn't true. I love my MSN logs :p

Pi Mu Rho is right, those guys don't deserve any respect.

Yeah, but what happened to LC before DOD:S?

I would like to know about Lost Coast possible release.

Like I said in the RDKF leaked thread. These guys are complete morons, releasing a game that's given to them by a reviewer and merley making it work without steam. I've written my own program to bypass steam it wasn't terribly difficult if I recall.

/no wait it was crashy I just tried launching hl2 from the .gcfs alone.
