Just wondering if it matters what brand of RAM I get, for example, corsair etc. If so what are some of the better and worse ones?

The brandname RAM chips like Corsair, Kingston, and OCZ have the highest quality RAM and of course have the most expensive too. However the cheaper RAM types they make are generally of the same price as the lesser known brands and are generally more reliable.

corsair and ocz are good brands. My RAM is awesome but runs a pretty hefty price tag, about $169 on newegg. Great timings though, 2-2-2-5!

a 1 GB stick? what kind of processor you running, prolly be better off with 2x512 and dual channel.
