Merging uvmaps XSI

IN XSI

Ok i made a model and then decided to map it out. but i mapped each part individually and then realised after id finsihed the map that how am i supposed to put it all one one or 2 sheets when there is like 10 pieces to my model required for animating.
so i thought the way to go would be merge the model then use clusters but my uv maps are then lost and i dont want to re do it all.

please if anyone knows i way around this i need your help!!!

heres the model:

Did you put each part on different IDs? Cuz that's the way to do it. If you didn't I don't think you'll be able to get back at what you've done since you merged everything. I hope someone knows a magic trick to do it.

No dont worry i still have it in objects too. Please give me more detail becaus e i now realise you dont merge everything because i tryed to animate it to test and it doesent log cluster movements only objects.

so everything is in objects still please give more detail.

if i did merge everything together though i can get them back to objects by using polygon island tool then once its highlighted simply right click and select extract polygons (delete) thatwil delete the polygons that are merged and leave the new ones that are a seperate object.

just incase anyone wanted to know.

oo sorry btw m8 desty just infromed me ur a max user and its xsi im after, sorry i dident label the post correctly

i dont really understand but if u meen that u have two objects mergerd and then cant uv map it then texture both of them seperatly then when you merge click copy all attributes or sumit in the box that comes up bottom left and it will create one merged object that uses the two different textures.

What it is. I have 10 objects that make up my gun and i have them grouped all sharing the same texture but i cant stamp the mesh on to one sheet and i cant assort the pieces on to one sheet ready for easy skinning with one sheet.

so i was hoping that i could literally put all the uvmaps on to one sheet for all 10 objects that make up my gun.

Attach all of the objects that will be in the same texture map to make one object, organize the parts in the UVW map, and generate/save/etc. the UVW mapping to make an image, put the image back on the model, and seperate the objects, each part should retain the UVW coordinates.
