I was looking at buying Half-life 2 by Steam and was thinking if there was a monthy fee version and a version where i buy it all at once or you have to pay $30 for bronze and a monthy fee. You see what i mean.

There's no monthly subscription right now.

And they will only make one if they feel they can make enough content to justify 10$ a month.

well there was talk of a subscription service a couple of months ago but no details have been given regarding it.

surely a subscription service is best for those aren't fans the HL series and just want to as i call it "rent" Valve's games for a period of time.

anyway we should find out soon if this service is going ahead by perhaps hearing about the pricing and policy for it :)

Thanks, since most computer games have weird copyright protection on the cd i am forced to use no-cd patchs because i am running off Windows XP 64x beta. Any way i thought steam would be a good way to avoid that whole thing. so thanks again for clearing that up. one more thing if i format my drive will i have a registation code or something to get my game back?

If it's registered to your steam account it should stay there.

if u purchase the game through Steam or buy a subcription, it will be tied to ur Steam account.. so after u format and re-install everything and log back into Steam, it will re-download whatever package u originally bought :)

pple are suggesting backing up the gfc files by burning them onto CD/DVD...but its not necessary :)

edit: doHHH! :p
got beat by a second

you know i have to say i have been useing HL2.net for maybe 4 months now and i have been really pleased by the people and the staff that make this the best half-life site out there.
