I had this game forever... played it a few times. Yet, I never got into it, I never played for an extremely long time too.
Should I install it?
If so, can you guys give tips for getting into the game. I heard great things about it, and wanted to play it, but not against my will.

Isn't the sequel to that game coming out soon or something?

Oblivion is it's sequel...
DON'T YOU PAY ATTENTION TO ANYTHING!!!

I just recently started too and what I do is bug my friends who played this game for tips and help when needed :p

There's a Beginner's Guide on gamefaqs, but I'm not sure how helpful it is. Personally I've spent more time exploring + stealing things than actually advancing through the plot, the game is designed to be played according to the user so there isn't really a set way to play it. Just play around according to how you feel and ask if you need help, that's how I play it :D

Give the ring to the guy outside the door when your starting. It will raise your faction and you get good prices at the local shop.

After that when you get to balmora do the mages guild quests up till the second one(i think) where you have to replace a gem. Go up there and steal all of them. Then go to another town(caldera maybe?) and when you leave the mages guild there go left and the house at the end of the row of houses on your elft is the one you want. It has a balcony up top. Go in there and to the second floor and talk to creeper. He has 5k gold and will buy everything at full price. Sell everything you have to him. When he runs out of money just sleep for a day and sell some more. With the gems you might need to buy some of his stuff so he has more money and can buy one of the bigger gems that sells for lik 10k. Just sell that, sleep and sell back the rest of the stuff. Also note there is some armor in that house in a box that you can wear or sell. I usually go with light armor and a sword of some type.

In balmora there is a sword in the gaurd tower, the one behind caius's house. It is at the top, there is a guard next to it, so you have to hide behind a pillar and jump up to get it. It is on top of a closet thing. Kinda hard to time but its a nice starting sword.

Other than that...uhh I dont remember much. Get athletics and agility as secondary skills and jump everywhere you go. Easy way to lvl up.
