Watching these videos got my feet itching. Can't wait to hit the road again.

Yeh, I'd love to, if I could afford to.

/bitter tears of a poor man

Indeed, being rich enough to travel and eat expensive food would, hypothetically, be awesome. :p

Man I really enjoyed seeing how that much fun that good looking, cosmopolitan, well-travelled mid-20s white guy had!

Yeah I'm bitter what of it.

We should be bitter together.

But we can't because we can't afford to fly.

If you guys are bitter, quit it. The guy in the above blog was 22 when he finished his EE degree. He decided to start traveling, and made enough money to get by through being a translator of engineering documents. It's not about having the means, it's about making the means. Unless you are in massive debt then there isn't any reason for you to say you can't do it. I'd like to, but first I want to finish a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bitterness hurts no one more than you.

My vision is to start traveling, get by through translating documents, and travel the world learning languages and martial arts. Bruce Lee had some choice words for limits: the only ones that exist are the ones you make for yourself. Why say "I wish I could do that"? Instead, if you really want to go all over the world, look around and find a way to do it. Opportunities are limited only by your willingness to look for and accept them.

This sort of stuff sounds hokey, but success is about the willingness to try, and yes, perhaps fail. But read around and you'll find out that it's not quite so difficult as you imagine it to be.

Late reply because I only read it today, but this is so true. If you want to it isn't even that hard. I have known loads of backpackers and if they had one thing in common it was lack of money. It didn't stop them from traveling though. Working around the world is very doable, just don't expect to sleep in the Hilton every night.

also waking up in a bathtub full of ice smelling of iodine is quite common
