MP3s in HL2

In an article, Gabe Newell had said that MP3 will be supported in the source engine, but it will not be in HL2. I know someone will probably create a small mod for MP3s, as he did say it was a fairly easy one. How many of you would listen to MP3s while playing HL2, and any particular songs/bands?
I'd be listening to:
Metallica
Vengeance Rising
Mortification
Horde
Metanoia
Screams of Chaos
Callous
Embodiment
Ethereal Scourge

(anyone wondering who these bands are, look up Rowe Productions)

I wouldn't I tend to listen to the games owns music.

I guess thats one reason that they dont have the feature enabled in the game. So that people would listen to the music that they made. And not something that they have downloaded/ripped.

MP3's can be used in the current Steam engine. The problem is is it's not very advanced in terms of useability, play lists and user interface etc.

I'd probably play through the game without any MP3's to begin with (if its even an option from the outset) to play through with the intended HL2 atmosphere the Valve guys wanted with whatever music they put in to add to the game.

But after that i reckon some Nine Inch Nails and Skinny Puppy would go done nicely. Keep that electronic element that is just the right kind of thing i reckon you need for blasting aliens.

i wud want to listen to the games music for atmosphere etc...

the only games i listen to my own mp3s in is the sims and championship manager 03-04. :thumbs:

and im listening to "down with the sickness" ummm no.

my music list isnt MP3's anyway, its 50 30mb+ music videos

It would be nice to be able to use mp3s, as you make a playlist, pic files from differnt place on you hard drive with out having to move them

thers something called ambience. you spent all this time waiting and crying for hl2 then when you play it you're gonna ruin the ambience by playing mp3's over the game music?
