I was just seeing the good quality E3 2004 video (burning fish's one) and in that at about 13:06 -13:07 fires a grenade out of his mp7.

As far as I remember the primary attack was the shooting and the secondary was to zoom in. So what's with the grenade?

sorry if this has been discussed before.

never thought about the zoom, there is probobly a different button for grenade or zoom or something...

The MP7 does have a grenade secondary fire, just like in Half-Life 1

The MP-7 and OICW cancel each other out if both have a grenade launcher as secondary fire. I wonder whether the OICW has been removed since it didn't appear in this year's videos whereas all the weapons from last year did.

Zoom is now a function of the HEV suit. Watch the part with Dr. Mossman. You can see Gordon zooming in with the USP.

Really ALL the weapons? ALL of them? Like the fabled crossbow and the confirmed Magnum?
Not being in a video does not mean it is not there daemon.

Example.
The absence of Dr.Kliener(exuse my spelling) in the 2004 video does not mean he will not be in the final game.

edit: HAH i was RIGHT! it IS super goggles attached to an HEV suit!

The mp7 is the size of a large pistol. It cant fit a nade launcher, "super modified futuristic technology" or not, there IS NO ROOM for a launcher on that thing. The only way it could ever have a grenade launcher is if it had the upper half of the oicw on it, which was a project scrapped a LONG time ago. and obviously it doesnt have that in game. i dont see why the oicw doesnt have the grenade launcher.

Aiye, but t'was a MP 5.

Anyway, the assualt rifle place has taken by the OICW and we know that it's secondary fire is the grenade launcher. But not the MP7.

What's the point of having 2 rifles with a grenade launcher plus you even have a RPG? that'll make Gordon too overpowered,

The OICW does, if that's what you are saying. See the E3 2003 trailer, Gordon launches a grenade with the oicw at the strider.

Im a nub... please tell me what OICW means... did I meantion that im a nub? :(

Objective Individual Combat Weapon I believe. Its a big rifle.

You mean I will be able to get this gun when I'm going to be drafted, which might be soon. :\

Dont count on getting one in the army. It was origninally gonna replace the m4/m16 series, but it was too bulky. If you get drafted you'll probably end up with an M4/M16 variant.

Arent they replacing the aging m4 and m16 with a newer design? I remember seeing it on TechTV...

The XM8 is the rifle that will probably replace the m16a2

i wouldn't worry about ti bubba they dish out guns to all and sundry in this age of terrorism, we must be armed to be prepared! Let no man say he wasn't ready...

On the subject of the weapons the little machine gun did seem to have 2 barrels in every screen i have seen of it and in the vid he uses it to blow someone up so my guess is we shall have the grenade launcher on that little gun jsut like in the first one.

It shall be fine, if you are so bummed by it you could always make a replacement, no doubt someone shall.

They're getting the XM8, yes.

and the OICW is to enter service in 2010 or something like that...

Good thing Land Warrior taking a back seat to the other program: The one where there a nano-robots in the guy's suit and he has a motorcycle helmet on his head... and he has a lousy pistol. :\

When you look at the "barricade" bink, and then at the E32K4 movie, you will notice that the zooms are indeed the same.
You could compare it to the Metroid suit :D

:hmph: I can't hold back, but there could be a strong chance they kept this. Please don't get mad! The zoomings could be a feature called "suit zoom". Don't ask what/how, anything! Just keep this in mind and find out.

I'm now 100% sure it's the HEV that helps you to zoom in. It's believeable - I mean if you can have a frickin binocular that let's you hear people in far cry, why can't this be possible?

It's a game after all.
