Hey All,

Sorry if this comes off as being "noobish", but do any of you have experience putting multiple skins on a prop model? I can get this situation working about 50 % - multiple skins on a static_prop, physics with one skin...but not both. My problem is that my qc compiles fine, hlmv views the model with all the skins selectable, hammer displays the model fine (with both skins and prop_physics as it's entity) but when i fire it up in game, I've got nothing showing up.

I've been searching for a few hours now testing out different approaches but am just running into brick walls, hopefully it's just somethign small I'm overlooking. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
G

I'm not sure,, I'm so unsure and paranoid of the HL2 model system, I tend to export all my models with different skins seperately with a common pivot point...

IE my latest map has one model for a terrain but I exported it in 5 pieces due to clip model/shader difference issues...

Hey Shinobi (also a fellow Vancouverite), cheers for the input.

In this case an option is to export every version of the model with appropriate skin and use it that way...but it just seems so much more efficient to change the skin by entering 1 or 2 or 3 etc. I've got it all working when it comes to prop_static , I assumed that removing (or not even entering) the $staticprop entry in the .qc file would do the trick for me...but instead nothing is showing up at all. I was wondering if maybe there was some type of $physicsprop entry I could put in the .qc file, I haven't found any in my searches though...

Thanks again fro the help, looking forward to any more insight that can be given.

G
