My anger and the Collector' Edition

Well I got the collectors edition for the $80, complete waste of money now that I see how it is. Worst collectors edition I have ever seen, I feel very ripped off. Then to make matters worse, my DVD drive doesnt work anymore and makes wierd noises, so now I cant even play the game, and I dont even have money for a new DVD drive. Also I cant just enter the CD-Key on steam and download it, it wouldnt let me. Now I am angry at the world.

dude that happend to me too!.. i had no idea the CE was DVD rom... so i took it back to Gamestop and traded it for regular version...

Yeah you should be able to return it for the same game. I dunno if they'll give you a refund or store credit or what for the price difference. But you should be able to.

at least we get a jewel case, i was expecting paper sleeves with how pathetic valve/vivendi are.

As far as I understand how publishing games works Vivendi are the ones who set up what comes in the box, not Valve. So the shotty CE is most likely the work of vivendi.

When I saw the Prima sampler I actually got angry, what a POS. The CE is a joke, i feel like Vivendi or whoever is laughing at me right now, I had a feeling it would be crap. My current plan is to take the dvd to a friends house, rip it to iso, then have him send it to me and I will use Daemon tools, hopefully that will work. I dont have anymoney for a new DVD drive after buying the evil CE.

You ripped with a good program? Also did you enable securom in the options of Daemon tools, you need to do that to make it work. Try that and tell me what happens.

Nope, it's Valve. It's so we all get it through STEAM with its superior versions and they skip the Vivendi middle man.

those who bought Gold off Steam seem to be extremly happy with the purchase. those who bought the CE seems to be slightly miffed. solution: buy off Steam in future :E
