You won't really need to have 1 GB of memory btw, 512 is fine.

not true at all.

Going by that statement a AMD 64 3000+ wouldnt be enough. Its clocked at 1.8 GHz. It would be awesome for HL2, much better then any 2-3 GHz P4.
