Loved the first episode (halflife 2 ep 1). But now im on the second episode and there wasn't an option in the mouse settings to get rid of the quick info brackets.
So i looked around on the net and found bullseyecrosshairs.com which seemed awsome. It had a file to replace the hl2crosshairs with another file by that name which im guessing is blank. But after doing this and playing the game nothing changed. Also yes i made the new file read only so halflife wouldn't replace it. Anyway please help, those brackets really piss me off.
Also heres what the bullseyecrosshairs site said:
DEALING WITH THE BRACKETS
SINGLE PLAYER: If you have no use for the Quick Info feature, you can turn it off in the mouse controls section. If you prefer an even cleaner look that just shows a crosshair with no brackets, download THIS FILE and extract the .ttf file into the following folder to replace the original. It eliminates the brackets altogether.
