I can't seem to find my way up to stop the rising ball. I've moved around the room all the way to the right and try to get on the elevator things but can't seem to stay on when they swing around. What am I doing wrong?

There should be a path at the bottom, leading around a big poundy thingy, until you get to a thin pole, hop to a place where there should be a HEV recharger. Keep following its glass path up the big poundy elevator things to the top. Then use your gravity gun to shoot in the openings of the doomsday device, blow it up and.. your done..

Not Nuff for me I guess. I go around the big "poundy" thing, encounter some troops, destroy 3 beams with balls in them, move up to the glass path that dead ends facing the tower. There are elevator things going around the tower that stop right in front of me. If I get on them they seem to slip out from under me. I never see any HEV recharger or thin pole. Should I be on a lower path? Mo help needed.

No, those slippery things are a challenge to stay on. So obviously it's the right way :). If you need help stopping Breen post back.

Slipping offffffffffffff

I've tried for hours and hours for at least 5 days on two different computers . . . . PLease tell me how in hell you stay on the ^&$$&$ slippery platform!!!!! if I do nothing I fall of to the left. . . if I try to walk with it I fall off to the right. . . What is the secret or technique to stay on???

The reason why you keep slipping off is because you get hit with a energy orb from a Combine Elite. That always happens, so be prepared to use the gravity gun on the incoming energy orb.

But I've never seen a newbie state his system specs in such detail, especially without being asked. He gets bonus points for that.

[slight derail] What I can't understand is why he is using a 45GB HDD int this day and age! You can get a 200GB one for under £60 now!

TECHIE FPS TIP OF THE DAY - Learn to walk in a straight line whilst turning backwards and forwards to make sure NPC enemies don't creep up behind you without you noticing. Look up and down too.

As for the specific problem...I finished it on normal so long ago I can't quite remember where he is...I'm going through it on hard now, at Ravenholm so I should be finished later today.
