Need help with hammer

how do you test a half life 2 map you make with hammer with hammer.

ok first off im just dwldn sdk now so i cant tell u but the people at the board u should be posting at are fully capable of providing u with answers, try the source/hammer boards, they will help you.

look at the main page of the forums, there's editing forums.

if you set everything up ok, you need to make sure you put the map in the correct folder...if its a CS map, you need to put it in your cs/maps folder...etc...

then go into the game, bring down the console, type "maps *"
that should show you all the maps, then if your map is there, type "map mapname"

What does dwldn mean? It can't be a word, it has no vowels.

how do you open the console

the button to the right of the 1 key (above tab).

You may need to enable the console in advanced options.
