Need some technical insight...

I just upgraded my computer from me old 800mhz bleh thing...and now I have a 3 gig system and Im having an issue with fps, even using the command fpx_max 72, 100 or whatever in console my fps is constantly locked at 60 fps, so if their is any way to force the fps cap other than fps_max please let me know

it's locked at 60 because you have vsync enabled and your refresh rate is 60hz, two options to fix it.

1) get a program like refreshforce or refreshlock and manually set your refresh rate to 85 or higher. (assuming your monitor can handle refresh rates higher than 85 at whatever resolution you're playing at).

2) disable vsync (this might result in tearing in the game though).
