I'm wondering what new features there are in comparision to Morrowind.

Is there a list anyway? I heard their was an arena?

Well for one whatevers missing will be quickly added by the modding community. Myself included the construction set is bloody awesome.

Best place would be to look in wikipedia, here is nearly the whole list, probably:

Best feature ever (It is official!)
Each of the 9 major cities has a house you can buy and have for your own. You can go around in town and buy different things to decorate your house with, so you have places to put all the stuff you collect. One of the houses that you can purchase is initially haunted.

gladiator competition
horses
Fable-like stat changes (hopefully your physique will change as well)
new world
a more interactive story (or so it seems with the cool intro in the cell)
people actually talk instead of them running up to you and a text box popping up

**EDIT**

Holy shit, Sean Bean is voice acting the heir!? WOOT!

Dalamari, there will no changes to the physical body itself, neither in size or height etc, that's been confirmed by the devs iirc.
Also, not everything can be modded in via the CS Kyo, it's still fairly restricted..
It does not allow one to add animations, nor new skills/stats into the game.
I'm assuming no animations is so that only they can make proper new additions to the game..
If you didn't know they're charging PC users for their so called mods too.
The mods will most likely be new weapons/armors amongst other things imo..
It shouldn't be that hard to add spears or throwing weps to the game IF you could add stats/animations..
But the fact that only they can most likely means they'll "exploit" it to release these things as mods that you have to pay for, or with expansionpacks..
As far as I've heard Oblivion is actually in some ways more restrictive than Morrowind in terms of moddability, but we'll have to wait for the final version and see.

But they'll only charge for the Betheda made mods. I won't be buying any of them.

Does anyone know if NPC's actually walk around the world, or are they only in cities or camp areas?

I'm pretty sure the Bethesda mods will be larger than the official plugins for Morrowind...and more substancial. I can't say yet wether or not I'm going to buy them...depends on what they offer...

When you say "Bethesda Mods" do you mean like Expansion packs? Morrowind had 2 (think they were Bloodmoon and something else) they rocked. Massive story added on and well, like a whole new world! I will buy them, if that is what you mean.

no... it means the official plug-ins: Adamantium armor, female armor, sounds of the bitter coast etc. etc.

I bet they make them bigger and more substancial than those...so they come closer to be "expansions" except not quite there....

The only confirmed Bethesda mods are horse armour and holiday themed towns.

Hmm...maybe. My impression was for all versions, but I could be wrong.

the plugins I mentioned are official plugins for morrowind...duh where have you people been?

so yes there's Adamantium armor in morrowind...

But...I mean...I could understand Mithril...sort of. It has been used in other media, but adamantium? Besides the fact that its indestructable, its only been in X-Men and is practically exclusive to X-Men.

I don't know, just doesn't make a lot of sense.

You can add animations to Morrowind. I know this becuase I've done it. Oblivion is meant to be even friendlier to modders and the whole pay for mods is only for either Bethseda made mods or very popular mods that the creator agrees to sell with Bethseda.

I've done some very dodge stuff with morrowind and by all reason atleast according to what I've read from Bethseda it should be even easier than before.

you cannot add player animations(other than idle), that's been confirmed. which is one of the reason new functioning weapons such as spears wouldn't work... unless you have some one running around slashing a spear like a sword.
