Mine has been updating the platform a little bit, but i still have plenty of bandwidth so its not a movie.
I kiss my bandwidth good-bye when a movie is coming in.

There was that really weird blast of tiny tiny updates for every single game on the list a day or so ago. But there's been nothing since then.

they have been doing a lot of "stealth updates"
they send info (HL media, usually) at a speed low enough that it doesnt show up in the monitor (i mean low as 8b/s) and in short bursts so ppl arent likely to see it

Steam is a lot more than just the HL2 media though. THe updates could be for many things otherwise. Also, if they were preloading the movies it'd get hacked again like before.

I doubt that they are doing what you are saying Qzilla, because then it would take weeks just to get one movie. I think they were doing very short, minor technical updates to things.

Steam is a bit of Valves big masterplan, they make sure a lot of people get it, and then it will crash every computer in the world!

Every time I check my monitor, it gets one of those quick bursts and then quickly dies. It always shows cs, the platform, and the movies as updating - the only three things that I've set to automatically update. This leads me to believe that it's not really updating anything in those short bursts; maybe it's just checkin if it needs to update? Just guessing...

I heard from "a bunch of reliable sources" that your shirt has been delayed and will be released around Holiday 2003.
