Nihilanth/Vortiguant Question

The Nihilanth that enslaved the Vortiguant was a big baby with an arm sticking out of its chest?

The Vortiguants have arms sticking out of their chest.


What was the Nihilanth? A combine combination of themselves and a Vortiguant? Or of themselves, a human, and a Vortiguant?

Just wondering. (Hmn... Maybe it was Combine mix of three races...)

Anyone know better..?

From my understanding, the Nihilanth was a superbeing type alien that ruled over the sect which invaded Earth (after being attracted by the incident with the rock Gordon pushes into the laser). The Vortiguants are another race of aliens that are not related in any way to the Nihilanth. They were only enslaved into their army and used against Earth.

This is like the Halo series for xbox (if you've played or know about it). One alien team with multiple races, except the Vortiguants were slaves.

They call Freeman their savior beacuse he was the one who freed them. This is why they have pledged to help the humans against the benefactors and combine.

Ok I agree with all that, except for 'the Nihilanth is a completely different race part'. Both races have arms sticking out of their chests..? Hmn. Confusing.

What about my three-races mixed theory? =p It would help explain why Nihilanth looks so freaky.

Yeah maybe you're right. Maybe they're all related? Dont know why they were enslaved though.... urg with HL3 was out so i could continue.

Yeah, thats good, though Havvok-- The Nihilanth was the Vortiguant that betrayed the other Vortiguants to appease the combine.

However, it doesn't fully explain why it looked also like a big ol baby.

(I'm pushing my theory that the Nihilanth was not a pure representative of whatever aliens took over on Xen, but Combine creation;

In the same way that they mix themselves with humans on earth, they mixed themselves with Vortiguants (and maybe a human too, one that came over before Gordon), and that particular one was in charge.)

So confusing. Need HL3 now.

That's my theory, anyway.

Maybe the Nihilanth is a combine of Vortigaunts and one of those Combine Overseers/Advisors. After all, merge the two and it would start to look like the Nihilanth, plus the Combine Advisor is supposed to be telekinetic giving it control over the Vortigaunts with it's powers and the Vort's genetic material, and it flies like the Nihilanth.
