NIN 05/03 release With Teeth streaming on myspace

NIN is performing "The Hand That Feeds" at MTV's movie awards

the "Only" video is being directed by David Fincher, of Fight Club fame

Reznor is suing his former manager for "stealing his money"

i was hoping NiN would be performing one of the other tunes from the new album but i guess them just performing is good enough for me :)

as for the "Only" video, good choice for director
Trent as also moved to Los Angeles as the interview talks about it...in a way im happy because this way NiN may get more air time (IMHO they barely get any air time :( ) but mostly i hope this move helps Trent on a personal level.

meh, its so scary that he almost died of heroin. seems so cliche.

i would never forgive him if he did.

oh, and his 40th birthday was yesterday

good news
glad Trent won the case and has something to show for all his hard work.

NEW YORK (AP) -- A jury awarded Nine Inch Nails alternative rocker Trent Reznor $2.95 million after finding his former manager breached his contract and acted fraudulently, a lawyer said Tuesday.

now he can concentrate on another album hopefully

what i forgot to add in my earlier post is that NiN is no longer part of the MTV Movie Awards 2005.

i could dig up many links to this news but the one that really caught my eye was this link

heres the best part:
You see, Madonna and Britney's kiss cleared the censors because it wasn't pushing any gay marriage agenda or something faggy like that.

too bad because its rare to see NiN perform and this would have been quite a treat for those of us starved for some good rock.

"Apparently the image of our president is as offensive to MTV as it is to me." - Trent

<3 that man! though I'm disappointed they won't be playing, it's not too bad because that way I can continue my streak of not watching MTV for years.

HaHa I just found an old pin that says "Nine Inches pleases a lady"

BTW "Right where it belongs" is really good

Hmm, not a fan of bands with political statements

I'm not American, I don't give a damn about Bush and it's so cliché anyway. It's not a very deep message.

that's really the only song on the album with a political statement; trent said he would rather not be branded as a political band but he really felt it within him to write a song about the war, etc. i don't particularly care, but then I was a Rage fan and they're all political.

right where it belongs and beside you in time are my two favorite songs.

Yeah you can say that again, but I personally think "Hurt" is better. It was even covered by Johnny Cash

It's not as if he's shouting "**** Bush!" or "Rally round the family!" or something.

i didn't want this thread to die down in the current topic so i just want to say that i am rather impressed by the few creative sigs i have seen with NiN content in them ;)
i like Q_fused (errr can't remember the forum member's name sorry lol) idea of "song of the week"

Hehe, well, I'll put it back up then, I guess.

I didn't see this thread so, I thought I'd comment since I'm just like Ennui about NIN.

With Teeth is amasing, I can really relate so much, it's incredible. People say that he's selling out, but I just shout "stfu nub!!!one11eleven." (Just me, it's fun to see people's reactions.) People just like it's too different from the Trent we all know... the venom-spitting Reznor. I like the "new" him, so to speak. I believe it's different because maybe it's the first album he's written sober (:O).

I like how all the song some how bind with eachother. The start of a song is embedded within the ending of the one before it. But the true art is it this fits -- it's non-obtrusive, you know? You really have to listen to hear it.

As far as an album compared to his others, I'd give it a 9/10 only because The Fragile beats it by a hair.

...

Ah screw that, 13/10... damn, it's been years since an album! Heh, I love With Teeth so much, I've embedded the picture of Trent inside the CD inside my eyelids. (And that explains why I've run into walls so much lately...)

actually, i feel that The Fragile album and (to a certain extent) Downward Spiral have that feel u are talking about... especially The Fragile and ur right, its non-obstrusive and Trent is the only artist who has done this to perfection IMHO ;)

u know what? hehe
i can't even pick a favorite NiN album...i just love them all in different ways and each album is so brillant in its own way... i will confess tho, The Fragile album is the one that i have listened to the most... that doesn't mean i like it more than the other ones.. its just not in me to pick a favorite :p

with a pocket full of shells? bulls on parade!

Q_onfused and I like to rant to each other about NIN on MSN quite a bit.

whoa dr. freeman, didn't realize you changed the lyrics in your sig (they're from only now!).

hehe i remember you PMing me over a year ago (my name was cylleruion2012 at that point i think) about the Trent Reznor quote in my sig.

There's a big ol' list of dates for an arena tour in North America, so for those interested:

http://nin.com/current/index.html

They better come arund Europe after this. :(

hell they better come to Toronto again :(
i left my brother in change last time to get tix because i was taking care of some very important stuff...and i ended up not being able to go.

i was so mad.. :frown:
they gotta come here at least one more time...

they better announce more dates, because there aren't any from NC in that list. which pisses me off a lot. but i have hope.

I saw them in Vienna a few days ago. ****in' amazing show. I was in there by the front about 70% of the way through, but then it just got so ****ing intense that I couldn't take it any more. Elbows in faces, people jumping on you, crowd fights, the inability to breathe as your ribs are crushed, chewing on some guy's salty mullet by accident... Had to muster the last bit of energy I had to storm through and literally punch people out of my way. I was lucky I got out in time, because then they started to play "Gave Up", which of course would probably kill me.

Lots of oddball fans though. Naturally, everybody wore black, lots of people with eyeliner, NIN tattoos, spiked collars. There quite a few hot goth chicks as well, although I have no clue how they'd manage to endure such an event. But then you'd get people with the face tattoos, bondage, piercings on every inch of their skin, and even some people that cut "NIN" into their bodies. But even then, such people weren't so bad. The worst were the drunk jackasses that would start crowd-surfing on songs like "Something I Could Never Have".

Hey, you. Yeah you, the fat drunken Austrian twat. Wait until they start playing something with actual drumwork, you shit.

I listened to some of the stuff on that flash player thing on myspace; all the music just seemed to be missing something.

With Teeth is really missing something - talent.

oooh.
and ur qualified to speak?

truthfully, most bands couldn't even hold NiN's jock straps.

For the past few weeks i had been hoping NiN would come to Toronto again and finally today i checked NiN's website (performance section) and was happy to see a Toronto date was added!!!

hopefully this time i can get my hands on some tickets :D
check the Performance page to see when NiN is coming to your town!! :)

Feel sorry for the people that wanted to see NIN at the Greenfield festival. My brother went there and NIN was the main band he wanted to catch. Then they cancelled due to the atrocious weather and my bro nearly went on a murdering rampage.

Wow, thats gotta suck for your bro.
This is pretty good..

My friend is selling her ticket to see NIN in Glasgow on ebay.

Jesus, no wonder they canceled.

I'm about to give remixing Only a try, though I've never used Acid Xpress before.

finally got to purchase my NiN tix for the November 10th show here in Toronto :D
who else has gone or is going? :)

Looks like I won't be able to go :(

No announced tour dates within a few states and I haven't got the resources to go further.
