No more "USER" folder.

Hadn't played HL2-DM for several months. Logged on and received a hugh Steam update 97,000kb.
Game no longer worked. Would show Valve splash screen/sound, then Powered By splash screen and then right back to desk top. Played with it for days. Deleted and reinstalled game. Deleted game & steam - reinstalled. No joy. Finally did a complete disk wipe, reinstalled Windows, Steam and game.
Well, game now works -yea. However, no modified Weapon Sights, History, Favorites etc. Also notice that in the Steam/HL2 folder tree there is no longer a Folder named after the user. IE: ja3780 where I assume all my personal stuff would be. Sorry for the long preamble. Now, 2 questions. Since I still have the full original Steam folder tree on an external drive.
1. Can I put back my original stuff and where would I put in.
2. Should there be a USERNAME folder.

Put it in the same place as it was before within the context of the hl2dm folder, except in its new location instead of the user folder.

The username folder is pretty much all but gone at this point. SteamPipe's new format made it redundant.

Err, username folder still stores game configs and saves.
