no props

hey,
I have a problum with the props in my map.I put the props in the hammer editor,but when i start the map up,all the props are gone,anyone know why this is?

You used the wrong entity for the chosen model, or the fade distances on the entity aren't -1 and 0.

another problum i have is when most of the props/weaponds/npc get a silvery white overlay on them,if u know what i mean.
why is this caused,and if u know,how is it fixed?

You need to run the console command buildcubemaps in-game, and you may need to reload the map after that. Perform a search in this forum for that command for more information.
