No Valve at E3

Yeah they could very well go under Vivendi, or even in the ATI booth like last year.

U.S army? lol!

have you heard of America's Army? its fairly popular and they are working on console versions. it only makes sense that they would have a booth.

If u look here u'll see Marc Laidlaw speaking on behalf for Valve so i presume they are going

They'll be hyping the Alyx Pack, oooh, look at this, we've added HDR and a transforming gun. or some such thing.

But seeing as you play as alyx, you can't see your body, what we're offering is insight, observe the realistic responses from the npcs as you walk around in the buff. In other words, watch yourselves as you waste your lives before the computer dling pr0n and realise your pathetic lives is god's revenge because you touched yourselves at night when you were kids!

We love our customers!

And you can take off your panties!

Your browsing the internet, yet you want to take off the pantie shaped collection of polygons from a larger collection of polygons (or triangles or however they do it nowadays).

Do you even know why the internet was invented ;) .

why should valve go to E3..if they have nothing to show then why go?

Umm why wouldn't they have something to show smarty?
TF2 anyone?

Do we know that? For all we know, they could have Half-Life 3 well in to post-production, they've never told us how long they have been working on it.

I won't worry about it..it's not a big deal..if their at E3..good...if their not..oh well. I won't lose any sleep over it.

Developers always go under the name of their publisher unless they are independent... VALVe still has a binding contract with Vivendi.

Last year it was the same... VALVe went under Vivendi's name (they have to...

For example you don't see any DICE Sweden on there because they go under the name of their publisher, EA...

Good point...I'm also interested in TF2...but honestly I am more interested in the new consoles...I really like new technology in gaming and computers and I am really excited to see the 3 new consoles...and their graphics.

valve needs to be @ e3....everyone will want to bring them candy, cupcakes, and beer for finally giving us HL2!

Actually I bet the contract is now over, they probably just had to put out a sequel and that was in the contract before, so they should be out of it(*prays*).

I notice that iD are not on there either though...

well I hope Gabe brings Air Conditioning he looked pretty sweaty after the Presentation 2 years ago.

My thoughts exactly. But really I dont see how much they have to show. Not many mods gets shown at E# as far as I know, and asfar as HL3... I want to belive - but ehhh... yeah right... :)

i wish i could go, but its on the other side of the nation so i's cant

And there are booths for Vivendi, most likely valve will be in one of them.

They've got plenty to show, they said they'd announce more about TF2 in spring (guess when e3 is) and there's probably an expansion in the works. And even if they wouldn't go for that, they could promote Source and Steam (although GDC would be more suitable for that).

What could they possibly have?

Expansion pack for Half-Life 2
The so called Alyx expansion, that we all know about. A bit vague at the moment but maybe they'll clear it up at E3.

Team Fortress 2
The prolonged development of TF2 is amazing. I certainly hope that *when* they release information it'll be more than we can handle (Or I'll hang VALVe, for sure).

Day of Defeat: Source
The Source version of one of the most popular WW2 mods ever created.

Future plans for Steam
They might reveal details about certain, larger, updates that will allow users to do this and that.

Anything else?

// Sidenote; I'm looking forward to DICE's release of BF2 :). Sweden owns you.

Talk about focked up. One idiotic comment and I get more publicity than the Scott peterson trial. lol j/k.
About the panties thing, I wasn't really saying that seriously, just a pun =D.

When did Valve say that have nothing to say? DODS + Alyx Expansion.

I hope to hear some news about TF2. I wish they don't spend time doing the expansion pack themselves, get someone like Gearbox or someone to do it, while Valve get the real projects completed.

-Haha, Valve will be making Total Annihilation 2

/startrumour

A friend of a friend who is friends with Gabes dog said that they wont be participating at E3 because they are ALREADY done with HL3! Omg.

/Endrumour.

:P :D

lmao I think otherwise certainly hope that they will be releasing some info on the Xbox 2 port of Halfg Life 2 that is expected to be released as i am 100% positive that the Xbox 2 WILL be shown at this years e3...

StAnToN: Wow you are a smart one considering that we knew a while ago that PS3, Revolution, and Xenon will all be at E3 ;)

But yes VALVe potentially has lots to show.

User who posted about iD not showing: Maybe they don't have anything to show... Last I hear Resurrection of Evil was getting released a month prior to E3, so thus what _could_ they show? QuakeIV isn't theirs to show, it's Raven (on the list it would be under Activision most likely) and I'm sure they don't have any new engine done by now....

This year's E3 is more focused on consoles than anything else it seems to appear so far :)

Any bets on if the Phantom is going to rear its ugly head? :P
