Half-Life 2: It's Delayed 9 Comments

A whole bunch of reliable sources (here's the GameSpyDaily, GameSpot, and GamePro mentions) are saying that Vivendi Universal Games -- Sierra's parent company -- confirmed today that Half-Life 2 won't make its scheduled September 30th release date. It's now a "holiday 2003" title.
Here's the results of a recent poll we did, it looks like about 5700 of you guessed wrong, unfortunately.

Total Votes: 9535

Will Half-Life 2 really ship September 30th?

Yes, I think they'll make it! 60%
No, and I will cry many tears. 40%

The good news is that it still looks like we'll get the game this year

PHL is a nice site, but this forum is the most up to date (although not always accurate) source for HL2 news.

Exactly why I visit this place :D

I whish PHL wouldn't be so quick to believe these rumors... I mean come on.... Even when I first went to the www.steampowered.com forums and found the "HL 2 delayed" topic, I still didn't really beliebve it. So imagine my annoyance when I went to PHL and found on the main news page:

"A whole bunch of reliable sources (here's the GameSpyDaily, GameSpot, and GamePro mentions) are saying that Vivendi Universal Games -- Sierra's parent company -- confirmed today that Half-Life 2 won't make its scheduled September 30th release date. It's now a "holiday 2003" title."

I just couldn't believe that PHL so redily accpeted the rumor....

With all that said,.

I still have 100% hope that it will be released the 30th, until gabe says otherwise.

Gabe said in an email "First time i hear about that" when he got those links..?

Well...there a steampowered forum member named nw909 e-mailed Gabe and asked about it. You can see his post here.
