Not that excited about HALF-LIFE 2

To be honest I'm not really looking forward to HALF-LIFE 2 even those HALF-LIFE 1 was so good on PS2 because my Windows XP wasn't able to play the FAR CRY demo without having major graphic faults. So I'm not really interested in HALF-LIFE 2 unless it the makers announce it for PLAYSTATION 2 or PLAYSTATION 3, and I'm not buying an xbox (cheap Playstation 2 wannabe) just for one good game.

Maybe there still hope since: FAR CRY, CALL OF DUTY, have now been announced on PS2.

First off - HL2 is not possible on PS2, and to be fair neither is FarCry or Call of Duty. They shall be rubbish. Wait for PS3, that could handle the conversions.

My only piece of advice is to upgrade your PC beyond all comprehension. I can't run FarCry at maximum specs myself. In fact I don't think anybody can so don't worry about it.

Stick with the PC my friend, things are starting to heat up this year.

PS2(cheap PC wannabe) would not be able to run HL2 in a million years. Unless, of course, they use the Queke 3 engine... PS3 is so long off, HL3 would be out. So, don't get your hopes up.

nobody was saying console couldn't have reputable titles..

just that half-life 2 isn't exactly suited for a ps2 just because this guy can't run the far cry demo.

The reasons that PCs beat consoles is flexibility. Once the hardware is fixed in, the only thing developers can do is squeeze a huge amount of juice out of them.

Which when I say that a game like Killzone, graphically competent to keep up with a Call of Duty style level is nothing short of staggering. It IS a 300Mhz CPU remember.

And where consoles beat PCs is stability. Due to the huge amount of different combinations of systems, you'll always have hardware trouble. With consoles being a fixed specification, developers don't have to worry about multiple specs. Thats why their so generally bug free.
