Wow, I'm suprised. I was reading through and got to the Spanish and saw this a note beside. I went down to see what the note said and it said this:

How wrong it that? I won't even bother because it is so obvious.
 
First of all H's are silent in Spanish! How can you stress an H when it's silent? The reason it's un instead of una isn't because it's masculine, it's because the a in una and the a in hacha would slur together making it sound like one word. It could be better demonstrated with La Hacha. Saying la hacha at a regualr speed sounds like you're saying lacha, which isn't a word. To prevent this you use the masculine un or el only when it's singular. The word is in fact feminine, so when there is more than one axe you would say las hachas or unas hachas. Even though you use un or el when it's singular adjectives describing the word are still feminine. So the pretty axe would be el hacha bonita not el hacha bonito.
