Based, yea, but it's for a fantasy MOD so it's not meant to be exactly like a particular crossbow.
For the butt, I too find that something is... wierd, but I decided to save some polies and since this part of the crossbow will often be hidden it shouldn't be a problem.
Yea but everything is under wrap right now. When I'll feel this is the good moment I'll post the Web site and everyone will be like Oh ouhhh arhh iiih!
haha good idea. i'll try to do the same.....except i dont have a mod team. :| eh, thats alright, i like working alone. i seriosly need a coder though. gonna need to find one.
yes i happen to know its not a piece of cake thats why i've been working my ass off. . gosh dont think that i'm just some lazy bum who sits around and waits for shit to get done. i actually want to make this mod(and dont worry i'm gonna do it; no matter what). and i think i've explained what kind of mod i was gonna make in some thread here before. if not then here are the basics(i got pages of ideas written out already; ideas like effects, gameplay, skills, weapons, some map areas, etc.): three teams. the outlaws are the survivors of the nuclear war(yes there was a nuclear war...), who stayed on top of the land. the Law is the organization formed underground in the fallouts after the nuclear war. and the unforgettable zombie horde. the radiation from the world war nuclear war led to various mutations in viruses and one just happened to reanimate dead corpses. the outlaws stay on top of the ground and eventually gain mutations due to the radiation. all the detrimental mutations have their hosts die because they cannot fight the zombies as effectively as those who gained beneficial mutations. many times these mutations the outlaws gained were simple(like immunity to the virus, muscle growth increased, reflexes enhanced, eyesight, psychic abilities, ect.) the law stayed undergound for 75 years while the outlaws came to know their enemy(the zombie horde). for 75 years the Law had been expanding their underground tunnels, connecting to other fallout zones to create a giant underground network(all ruled by the Law). they finally decide to come back up(deciding it was safe), and encounter the zombie horde for the first time. the weapons used underground were not quite effective against the zombies because explosives had been banned. as the Law came to produce weapons of war, they also encountered the Outlaws. the outlaws felt threatened by a new system and the underground foreigners and decided that they were more of a threat than the zombies(for they were doing quite well against the zombies). the way of life for the outlaws was againt the rules of the Law in everyway and this is why the outlaws had to rebel. the basic caste of the outlaws(thug, drug dealer, gunslinger, assassin, and priest) all had marks of corruption that the Law viewed as wrong. in the end they would all fight each other.
yeah thats the "basic" story. i got more detail but i didnt feel like writing too much(this is 1337's thread). i already have the classes down(and alot of their skills, etc.) lets just say i have lots of ideas and shit already thought out. thats why i got to get my ass working to make these god damn models.
EDIT: sorry for the long post 1337. really sorry.
is that his name ? leet ?...i thot it spelt tilee-toon :S ...silly me.
nice mod idea but what i was most concerned about is how ur trying to make it a one man job those never ever work out. you should atleast make it 2ppl like my mod lol.
so is it a sp mod or a mp mod ? . its a shame really coz i was going to ask u to join my mod .
btw 1337 are u going to texture this model ?
Actually, mindless is right about my nick and I think he is the first english speaking person to get it right well it should be more like tee-lee-toon but anyway.
Yea im texturing this model and normal mapping it.
oh.....i see... well mines gonna be mp. yeah mp all the way. sp gets boring too fast.
EDIT: lol ripperroo. u just wanted to put my reply on the 2nd page. i know ur conspiring against me.
Thats a nice model and stuff, but to me, it just looks abit plain and boring... what i mean is, it looks like every other crossbow out there. maybe use that model as a base, and rework the design to come up with something interesting. But at the same time, i guess it depends on the content of your mod.
I agree on that point, it looks a little plain. Since my MOD is 3th person I really wanted to keep the poly count as low as possible and put the details in the texture and the normal map.
I'll search again on the net if I can find interesting ideas and add a little fantasy to this crossbow (without adding too much polies).
