Opening HL2 GCF files?

Hi, I was wondering how I go about opening them. I have GCF scape and it opens the HL1/it's expansion GCF files just fine, but when I try to access the HL2 GCF (any of them, including CS:S) I get an error. I have Steam shut off and everything. Is there something else I do? Thanks.

Can you give the exact error your getting Rakurai?

Could not open:
*File Location/name*

Make sure the file is not already open and that Steam is not running.
