BUG FIXES
- Fixed the Hmmwv with TOW crash on Battlefield 2: Special Forces maps
- Fixed the Battle Recorder crash
- Fixed the screen capture
- Fixed the issue with Pixel Shader 1.4 video cards
- Fixed the issue that caused heat seeking missiles to stick to oil towers
- Fixed the issue that caused heat seaking missiles to ziz-zag
- Reduced the maximum number of claymores that can be dropped to 2
- Fixed the Server Browser filter to enable search by map name
- Fixed the error in Client - Server communication causing sound, animation and other
sync issues.

Sounds good, and if I'm not mistaken the patch is to be released tomorrow. Now if only they toned down long-range accuracy of PKM / MG's then it's all set :)

This will solve just about all the bugs hopefully - its such a major issue in so many problems
 
Is that all? did they not even THINK of the stupid ideas they even implimented before? I mean, how could it have been so difficult to make the explosives work like they used to, just the punishing system is that of the commanders artillery?

Oh well, they listen to the whiners the most, and the whiners love the easy kills I suppose....*sigh* Just hope I don't crash so often.
 
Some of these are pretty critical, but I think they did work that didn't even need doing. All they had to do is go back to 1.12, make the heli a bit weaker, support guns a bit stronger and take out diving and bunny hopping. That would have been enough I think..
 
Hey there now I hope this works out and fixes the widespread issues. But most likely will create some more that people will bitch about. :| Wow that bf2s server is real fast, I just got the 14 mb in less than 30 sec. :O
 
That changelog was released like two weeks ago. Hasn't it changed since?
 
I don't remember seeing the "Zig zagging AA" 2weeks ago.

But yeah...glad this is the first time that a game has had 3 *or 4..don't remember* patches, and 2 of them are have hotfixes. GG.
 
So i was flying a plane, and got missile locked. So i started doing circles, missiles can't hit you if you’re both at full turn, and often the other pilot just gets bored and leaves.

Anyway, so i was going in circles, and i switch the camera to where i'm looking back at my plane so i can see when he leaves, and he shoots a missile and hits me.

Now at first, people think, 'oh you suck' or 'oh you = newb', but if me being at full turn can't avoid a missile...then what the hell are you suppose to do to avoid a missile other than drop flares?

Missiles shouldn't be able to steer equal too or better than a jet can.
 
Well missiles are designed to be more agile and faster than jets, I mean if they couldn't hit air targets then wtf would it be designed for? :p

Missiles in this patch are designed to be countered by flares, anything less than that = hit. If you're flying jet then you have to be creative to get the enemy pilot off your tail, mainly try to get them to overshoot you or use the stall barrier (~800m) to your advantage.

I noticed one more thing, is it me or do air-to-air locks occur ridiculously fast?
 
That doesn't make sense, if the only way to counter missiles is with flares, then why is the time between flare drop to next missiles lock SHORTER, than the time before flare drop to next flare drop?

So the guy behind you has 2 advantages over you, he can shoot you--and his attack system is better than your defense system.

That basically means you have all of 2-3 seconds to get rid of missile lock? That’s way too easy for the guy attacking.

Missiles should be able to hit planes easily, but they should NOT be able to turn better than a plane, that doesn't make sense.

Hmm, does this mean that they still can't be detonated with grenades...cause if thats how it is, it's a serious problem imo. I hate those jerks who just claymore the crud out of the map.

Eventually I think they're implementing for specific classes being able to pick them off the ground, but yeah I agree it's a pain. At least they're going in the right direction by at least limiting it only 2, I wouldn't be so annoyed by it if the blast / trigger radius wasn't ~6+ feet.

That's why you have to watch your ass and don't let the enemy get behind you. ;)
 
I got a problem lads, i reinstalled BF2 the other day, and got the latest patch and played it perfectly for hours on end. I decided to reinstall Special Forces today, so i did, i then re-patched it and then patched it on top of that with the patch released today. But now when i go to play Special Forces online it says something about Modified content and for me to get the latest update which i have done :| Any help :( it's rather annoying.
 
uninstall both of them.

Install BF2
Install SF
Install patch

They don't know how to make a game that doesn't need to be reinstalled every time.
 
They should start listing patience as a 'minimum requirement'.
 
lol i've got patience but having to reinstall just to patch takes the f****** piss :P

That's exactly why planes are able to avoid them, missiles are faster, but don't have the maneuvrability or the ability to predict accurately.
 
Well, this patch was one of the most WELL thought out patches ever..then the HOTFIX was even better! So, prehotfix, 80 AVG 25-30 FPS when everything on the maxest of max settings. Posthotfix I get 25-30 fps with the top 4 items being on high, and the rest on low/off..except for the 100% visibility.

Somebody wanna help me out with that? :( I even have it on 8x6 res.
