What I look like as of 2-28-08

I don't expect much change in muscle growth because I probably won't be able to eat enough often enough to feel an increase of any kind.

But I do expect to increase my stamina and endurance while running.

Expect an update next Friday!

Good luck man, being healthier isn't a bad thing.

I approve of all the flesh being shown too.

That's great and all, but isnt all that a bit much to start off with Pesh?

200 pushups doesn't mean in one sitting, just 200 in one day however I see fit. I'm already decently fit as is, I just need to do it more often and eat more on a regular basis.

I able likely to increase the number of jumping jacks and squats considering those are pretty low. Also, those are just the minimum amounts- I am free to do any upper body work I want on my upper body days, same goes for lower body days.

Ohh I getcha, thats sensible then. Good luck!

Wow...I can't even do a pull up much less 50. Your crazy but good for you.

Working out is awesome! The main problem I see with your routine is it's not easily "maintainable;" not that it's impossible, but it would require a lot of time. I am NOT trying to discourage you at all. Usually it's best to ensure your routine is fun and maintainable, otherwise most people usually lapse out of it. Workout partners are also awesome (if possible), because it helps keep you motivated and accountable. Somethign that also works great is if you ever stagnate on one goal is to set different goals & break up the routine. I got my mile in from 7:05 to 5:55 in about 3 weeks, now focusing on biceps (goal: 25 pullups in a set & 20-set (10/arm) 45lbs curls), then next I'll probably do abs (6 of a crazy difficult abs-thing) or pushups (150/set regular). I don't fight my ADD, I just work with it! lol :bounce:

At first I thought you wre saying 200 pushups non-stop! I actually did 201 pushups in a single set once, but in the process I did about 1800 pushups that day working up to that point (3.5 years ago). Just decided to test myself: 132. I'll test 1-arm pushups tomorrow since my arms are now bi*ching at me. I've been doing them for years though; occasionally when I'm working on my computer, I'll just drop down and do a set of pushups/pullups/abs(using THIS, it's ****ing awesome for abs!).

Why not use free weights? They will give you greater results with less time.

Working out is awesome!

This. The advantages are so numerous: Longer life expectancy, better self-esteem, healthier mind, faster, stronger, sleep better, more sexy and it just goes on and on...

If everyone worked out, the world would have less fugly idiots.

Pesh, you're a great guy with great skills, oh what the hell, I'm coming with you!... Tomorrow.

Bodyweight exercise is better. Certainly if you're not fully gorwn yet. Also, bodyweight is great for improving endurance and power. Not everyone needs arms like redwoods ya'know :P

You can cure obesity with exercise, but you can't fix ugly with it. That requires surgery, and even then it's not a sure thing. FUGFAG.

Pesh, you're a great guy with great skills, you're gonna do great! Oh, what the hell! I'm coming with you!

You look hot in those boxer briefs. I'm going to go to the gym this morning once I get off work and jog for an hour in your honor. Then I'm gonna take my fatass home and get some sleep.

Why did I think that Pesh's Progression was going to be about rehab?

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish. I know weight training, if done improperly, will damage your joints. Also you have a good point about being fully grown. I believe weights will stunt your bone growth. But if you want to get stronger and bigger free weight training is superior to body weight training.

Quick question that I've always wanted to know...

What is the difference between a chin-up and a pull-up?

I normally try to do 50 push-ups, 200 sit-ups and assorted weight lifting every other night. If only just to make me tired so I can get to sleep.

I need to get more "breathing" (forgotten the word) exercise in but I hate running and cycling is only effective if you go a fairly long distance. I think I may try and do some swimming.

I wish I had has much commitment as you. It's not the doing, it's the following thats the hard part.

You know I actually look like Pesh in terms of my body, but I am much smaller, I'm only 60 kg..

man, I wish my chest/stomach looked like that...

/me takes another bite of breakfast cake.

Actually, physical attractiveness is partially determined by how heathly ye are. Sure, there are people who are uglier than others, but if they worked out they would do much better.

For now, I am doing exercises with bodyweight alone. When I feel the need to move to free weights and benches, I will change the routine to a more strenuous one.

Off to do my first lap!

What is the difference between a chin-up and a pull-up?

A chinup is an underhand grip, which works largely on biceps. A pullup is an overhand grip, which are much harder, and focus on your deltoids as well as triceps.

I recently started my workouts as well and dont plan on ever stopping again.

I started with the Bodyweight challenge:

http://bellyoff.menshealth.com/SNC/...7f&pguid=f11af873-2ef5-4d59-802c-892406ffe605

Pretty much following these guidelines.

During week 2 i started doing some free weights after the workouts.

So my workout generally looks like.

Monday - Workout A + weights
Wednesday - Workout B + weights
Saturday - Bodyweight challenge + weights

My free weight workout is.

20 pound bicep curls. (bar bell)
10-10-8 each arm
20 pound tricep pulls. (bar bell)
10-10-8 arms together

Hold each 20pound dumbbell out as long as possible.

20 total arm rotation pound lifts (bar bell)
(holding bar bell to your sides lifting up to your wings)
right after no rest 5 or 10 arms together

20 pound bicep curls. (bar bell)
8-6 each arm

20 pound tricep pulls. (bar bell)
10-10-8 arms together

I'm thinking of adding a Tuesday chest/abs and a Thursday legs/back weights workout. But that's when i sign up to a gym. I do all this at home right now.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm also working on my eating. I never eat bad just at the wrong times. Like 12-1 am dinner while not eating anything the whole day.

I'm pretty much aiming to look like. Christian Bale in American psycho, or Mark Wahlberg look.

TIPS TIPS TIPS!!! GIVE UM!!!

My best tip would be to fight the urge you will have to stop working out in 3 or 4 months. I actually like to go to the gym, but recently I can't seem to make myself get out of bed earlier for it. Something that I hope will change soon because I can really point out the changes in my body since I started going to the gym, and I'm quite interested in watching the evolution it could have in a year or so
