Peter Jackson "Fired" by New Line. Won't do "Hobbit"

New Line has officially told Peter Jackson they would no longer need his services for The Hobbit and other LOTR prequels.

According to a letter sent to The One Ring from Peter Jackson, it looks like a lawsuit involving the studios accounting practices has kept Peter from signing on to the next LOTR movies. New Line is going to lose the rights soon unless they can find a director to move the project forward. So, what's a poor studio to do. That's right, fire the director who brought in billions of dollars.

The Hobbit will be ruined. Only Jackson could pull it off.. although really, they needn't make up any prequals or shit like that, just stick the text and the hobbit can easily only be one 3 hour film... it's a short childrens book.
