yo, getting a funny login page from my home computer whenever i visit the site for a ''t.skimresources.com'', if i press cancel it takes me to the site as if all were normal (which is how i'm posting now), but for every new thread i open it asks me three to four times.

opera is flagging it as a phish attempt, helplife2.net, s'this all about then?

(is this even the right forum? sorry)

okay, great - solution? i'm a mac user, too, which means i've been out of the loop of adscans and computer scanning for nearly 4 to 5 years now because of the zero amount of problems they get.

it's only occuring on this website, mind, though i've just tried it on my laptop and i can get through to the site just fine. this sounds like a problem, then.

90% positive that indicates an infection on your end (trojan, browser hijacker, etc) and doesn't have anything to do with HL2.net.

I'm running an affiliate link advertising plugin to trial which accounts for the URL. It's a bit of code hosted at their site that converts some links on the forum pages into affiliate links to generate revenue. There's no reason why there should be a login box anywhere but it's nothing to worry about. Do you get it on all pages? What browser do you use?

i get it when first entering the site, then from there on out it's appearing on every page. i'm using opera and i'm just about to check the website in firefox - alright, just checked and firefox seems fine, so just opera.

likely i've picked up something then, perhaps. any idea on how to get rid of it for a mac user? (perhaps move to hardware forum now?)

I don't think it's you. I think opera is getting confused by the code and thinks it as another (secure) site. Safari works fine.

right, well i'm going to run some tests and find out what's up anyway - no DNS nonsense going on, and i did some terminal doo-hickey stuff which didn't reveal anything, but i'm pretty computer illiterate in all fairness so who knows?

if it's opera getting confused by code, any advice on what i should do?

Use a better browser? :| I'll check the code in the morning and see if there's anything my end I can do to fix it.

hey, i like opera :p

just restarted my program and the website is working fine now. very curious.

...whenever you visit halflife2.net? I'm using Opera, and haven't seen that prompt (although I was unable to connect for periods of time yesterday).
