Phosphorus Grenades?

A few years back before Half-Life 2 was released, I was scanning around different sites looking at previews, information etc. and I saw something about a weapon called a "Phosphorus Grenade" being in the game. I might have been confused with the Pheropods.

don't phosphorus grenades burn the hell out of stuff? They probably figured that you have enough stuff to light things on fire with. Just not all the time, I think it would be nice to see a combine on fire.

It was a misconseption with the AR2's secondary fire mode back when no one had any idea what the weapon actually is.
